A Little Holiday Cheer
Short and sweet: our favorite ways to eat sugar and carbs during the holidays (and the rest of the year)
The last month has felt like a marathon. Anyone else??
I’m currently mid-position-switch at work, we started a Substack (which has gone swimmingly! y’all have been so kind), we survived an election (so far) and a soccer season (still going but winding down), and Zach finished his first round of classes at Duke. Mostly good things, but I am tired.
One of the perks of working in the public school system, though, is that I get an entire week off for Thanksgiving. As usual, I overscheduled our week, trying to fit things in that we can’t generally do because of work and school and extracurriculars.
I decided yesterday morning to cancel and reschedule those things so that we can actually enjoy the time off.
With that in mind, here are two beloved no-bake recipes from our childhoods that we now enjoy making with our kids (and eating by the handful after they go to bed). They are easy and delicious and well worth the (minimal) effort.
What are you guys up to this week? How are you preparing to savor time off (if you get it)? What are your favorite foods or traditions? We’d all love to know!
No matter your circumstances this holiday season, I hope you take care of yourself in whatever way you need.
Thanks for being a part of this community! Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving week.
Thanks for the recipes!
