I'm really enjoying Better Ways To Read The Bible! Thank you both for your love and service to the Body of Christ and those seeking healing and support! Grace and peace, Brad
When you do this again, you mentioned breaking free from expectations of working extremely hard, believing that is what God wanted, you mentioned that was a conversation for another day, I think you should do that and deconstructing other societal expectations and God wants you to be so and so way and how you did that
I just started reading Better Ways to Read the Bible this week. What a refreshing read! It is helping me tap into the rejection I felt and rejection I enacted growing up in an evangelical community. It is helping me find a constructive and healing way to reclaim my faith without feeling I must also accept the problematic and hurtful ways it is used to oppress and marginalize people. Thank you for this gift. I wish I could find a reading group!
I’m really happy to hear that it’s been helpful, Miraida! I know it’s not the same as a reading group, but I wrote these questions that can be used for self-reflection if you’d like! https://www.zachwlambert.org/discussion
Thanks you two. Love the book. Currently doing book study with my daughters and my daughter’s partner. It’s been a journey. Currently not in church. Had to leave after years of questions and then how my daughter was treated by the church when she finally had the courage to come out. I am particularly touched by your heart towards your church community. So often we use the word pastor very flippantly. Preaching is not pastoring. You and Amy give me hope that there are church leaders who understand the need for pastoring through deconstruction, relationships, and discipleship. We are going to take a “field trip” to Austin to visit after we complete our time together in your book. Thanks again.

We’ll add it to the list for next Friday. Hope you can make it! 12pm CST
Great idea! We’ll definitely talk about this on our next live 😁
I loved this! And I can’t wait until our conversation next week 😃 I’m a three, like Zach. And I’ve also had to learn work boundaries the hard way!
I love that you’re a three too! And you wrote a really amazing book, Anna. You should be so proud!
This is so kind ❤️ thank you!
Love knowing you’re a fellow 5, Amy. I knew we were kindred! 🫶🏼
And it all makes sense!!

This is beautifully stated and resonates deeply with me. Thank you so much for your comment! Maybe you could start a book club 😉
