I was so encouraged to meet you both in Denver and have enjoyed staying in touch with Zach. I’m so excited about reading these from you both Amy and Zach and seeing you again next year in Nashville. May the Divine keep you full of joy and love !

Amy, you reached me when you mentioned your desire to water your plants. That touched my heart, truly. Getting “green time” as my wife (also Amy) calls it, is the way I recharge and it’s how I see what God has created in a simple yet beautifully intricate way. I’m looking forward to reading your work alongside Zach’s.

I'm going to start calling it "green time," too! 100% agree about noticing God in the seemingly small but significant interconnectedness of all things nature (including us). Thank you, Dave.

You're gonna start loving her stuff more than mine. I'm 100% convinced of it! She's the best.

I used to study the Bible in my quiet time, I now take my coffee out read a verse or motivation. And play worship music, letting the wind blow as I breathe and sing to God and let Him speak to me (listen).

I love this, Leslie. I’ve found that making time for quiet listening has been so helpful for me too.

Thank you so very much for your ministry! I felt like a fish out of water for so many years!

I was there Sunday and as always I am so ministered to!

I was the old lady in the rocker! Just right....

So nice to meet you, Leslie! I'm glad you have found healthy, meaningful rhythms. I'm still discovering mine but I feel particularly at peace while I'm watering plants- the combination of nurturing something and taking a break from everything else.

I am really enjoying reading your content. I had a plenty of the “bible in hs backpack” friends, but they have all kept their distance since I started deconstructing after being fired from our church staff for coming out as bi and LGBTQ-affirming on my own Substack. I am married to a man and didn’t think they would take it the way they did. But they completely cut me out and asked my husband to leave staff as well to “get his family in order.”

We have found a humble LGBTQ-affirming church, but I am still grieving the loss of the friends I grew up with and the mentors I had in that community that either won’t return my texts or have let me know I make them “uncomfortable to be around” and they “feel judged by me.”

Thank you for this community space! ❤️ It has a safety my old church never had.

Thank you, Gabby. I am so very sorry that you've been cut off from your former community. It's devastating (and confusing) to lose the people who were supposed to love you unconditionally. I've been there, too. But I'm glad you've found our little corner of the internet and an affirming church! That original pain doesn't disappear but it does get better. The freedom on this side of legalism is a worthwhile journey. Keep at it.

This is EXACTLY how I feel as a Catholic who is outside the church. On election night, I yearned for the comfort and presence of my Father God, but was paralyzed as to where to go. I wanted the soft candle light, the smell of incense, the calm presence of Jesus in a space made sacred by millions and millions of prayers. But my church is complicit. They helped cause my pain. I cannot bring myself to cross the threshold.

l love that you shared. I know that many Pastors' wives are much more introverted than their husbands and like their privacy. I am glad you took a risk, as I value women's voices and like hearing them
