Public Theology is based on the work of Zach W. Lambert, Pastor of Restore, an inclusive church in Austin, Texas. He and his wife, Amy Lambert, contribute to and moderate this account. Zach’s first book, Better Ways to Read the Bible, is now available wherever books are sold. Zach and Amy are currently writing a devotional based on Better Ways to Read the Bible which will release Summer 2027.
All of the content available at Public Theology is for those who identify as Christian as well as those who might be interested in learning about a more inclusive, kind, thoughtful Christianity. To receive new posts and support the work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
An Announcement!
Since Better Ways to Read the Bible came out a year ago, so many of y’all have asked if/when it would be adapted into a study for groups. Well, I have some very good news: it’s finally here!
The group study curriculum officially releases on August 18, but you can preorder it now through the publisher and through Amazon. We’re only two weeks away!
Better Ways to Read the Bible is now available as a complete group study, with video sessions, participant guides, and a leader guide. Whether you’re part of a small group, book club, Sunday school class, or simply a handful of friends who want to explore better ways of reading the Bible together, this study gives you everything you need to explore better ways of reading the Bible within a group.
I’m so excited to provide this opportunity for anyone who has loved (or is interested in reading) the book to go through it with others. It’s been a gift to serve you all through Better Ways to Read the Bible and I am thrilled to expand the offering to meet the increasing need for healthy, hope-filled Bible study for those wanting to study alongside like-minded people. We need it now more than ever.
If you enjoyed the post, please comment, share, or subscribe. We are grateful for your support!
We’re also happy to cover subscription costs for anyone who wants to subscribe to Public Theology but can’t afford to do so at this time. If you would like to join the Public Theology community and gain access to our paid subscriber content (which we keep behind a paywall for the privacy and connection of our community) but cannot afford to do so, please message Amy Lambert directly.
Lastly, personalized and signed copies of Zach’s debut book, Better Ways to Read the Bible, are currently on sale through Zach’s website for $25 + shipping. It’s also available wherever books are sold.

Yay! This will be great Zach! I can't wait to use the materials when we offer the book study to our church this September. Thanks for putting this together!
