Actually I have been crying since I read your paper. The time is now. We need to allow undocumented immigrants to live with us. That is what my father would do. We need to March around the Supreme Court, Capitol and the White House. Just like Joshua did Jericho. Texas state Capitol also.
Through my eyes as a homeless woman for 23 years, I became keenly aware that I enjoyed white privilege. I took a philosophy class at HCC Community College. I wrote a paper that the phone was going to change our society; because it would expose the police brutality. I was proved right.Sometimes I use to sit on the train platform at night with a Black friend; because I felt safe around him. I heard the metro police had severely beaten a man on the rail. The next time I saw him, I found out it was him. His mother started the Houston Black Lives Matter Chapter. Mother's started Black Lives Matter!!!!!!
I've thought for a while that the churches that're militant about love and bringing heaven on earth--would eventually be dangerous to Empire b/c wholeness/shalom vehemently opposes the Empire's tenants of "manifest destiny"
I am a horrified by what trump/ elon are doing. I am not surprised except in the way that a person with a conscience will always be surprised by sadists and sociopaths. I wonder what practical steps can be made? South Africa, Anti Aparteid must be remembered. I think we need to remember that there was protest music in the 1980s. Elon and trump are taking funding from South Africa, away from USAID, away from hiv victims and then only letting in white south african "' refugees." This is AP press and mainstream media information. Yes we need something. I am not sure about an earthly Revolution, but think that there has to be something Christians do to resist what is happening. What about a boycott of US goods like during aparteid against South African goods? Do you all have an idea about what can be done?
also I put together a graduate class project in 2009 and had problems somewhere between actual law enforcement and a lot of backstabbing speculation. I had really good Muslim friends I could not be around and it broke my heart. I want to make sure I am not trying to imply anything illegal or questionable now. I also really wanted wiser people to help me understand how to deal with the false investigations and think that if the Church is going to risk jail we need to be taught more about what that means.
